Curriculum Information
At Our Lady of Victories we provide an education which is rich and varied, placing a strong emphasis on high academic achievement. The Curriculum provided encourages every child, at every stage of their learning, to develop their individual talents and particular abilities.
It is based on the English National Curriculum which covers Mathematics, English, Science, Computing, History and Geography, and Personal, Social and Health Education, which includes Relationships Education, Music, Physical Education, Art, Design and Technology. Pupils from Year 2 learn a Modern Foreign Language (French).
As a Catholic school we also teach Religious Education, using a programme which delivers the content set out by the Bishops Conference of England and Wales.
Children in Reception follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) and work towards achieving the Early Learning Goals. The EYFS curriculum has two areas of development: the Prime Areas of Learning and the Specific Areas of Learning. The Prime Areas include: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Physical Development. The Specific areas include: Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World,
Expressive Arts and Design.
